Our brief was to empower young people, with a focus on 15 to 25 year olds, around their mental health and self-managed recovery. We worked closely with Early Intervention Specialists, Psychosis Research Unit and Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust, to understand social exclusion, stigma and self-stigma in young people; also the desire for autonomy, resilience and respect.

Applying the principles of what would become ZW Narrative Resilience Technology, we devised a high-octane, character-led gaming narrative, consistent with a social recovery and restoration approach, emphasising choice along an ongoing journey rather than a fixed goal or endpoint.
